The cranes have arrived! (At least they have been seen flying overhead, but there is no guarantee that we will see any at Separation Lake on Saturday)
Saturday, April 14, 7:30 am – Sandhill Cranes at Separation Lake. Ken Lipinski to lead. Meet at the Cineplex Odeon parking lot for carpooling. Trip will only be about 2 hours. Note the early start time. We are hoping to get there before the birds take flight. If you need a ride to Aberdeen Mall, let me know and we will arrange to find someone to pick you up.
Make sure that you dress warmly as it is usually cold and windy up in Knutsford. Don’t forget your binoculars and camera.
This field trip will be a great opportunity for the photographers in the club to enter photos in our new sightings feature at our monthly meetings. As well as verbal reports of interesting sightings, we are inviting the photographers among us to send their photos/videos to Ken Lipinski at firstname.lastname@example.org by 5 pm the Tuesday before each general meeting. These will be projected on the screen at the beginning of the meeting and should add to the interest of the sightings report.
The next meeting will be on Thursday, April 19 so have your submissions in to Ken by Tuesday, April 17.
There is no need to register in advance. Everyone will be asked to sign an attendance form. Non-club members will also be asked to sign a day trip waiver form and pay $1.
When carpooling, at trip-end, please offer the driver compensation for gas and wear-and tear on the vehicle. Consider offering what you feel would be fair if you had been driving that vehicle and would be receiving the compensation.
