Forty two groups came together to encourage Prime Minister Trudeau and key federal ministers to invest in natural infrastructure as a part of Canada’s COVID-19 recovery plan. In an open letter submitted on Thursday May 21st, the groups provide detailed recommendations for investment in natural infrastructure as an integral part of Canada’s economic recovery from the COVID crisis and its long-term resilience against the impending climate emergency. All of the Kamloops Naturalist Club spring field trips are cancelled. Although these field trips are cancelled as KNC functions, these are still good  locations and times of day to see birds in these areas. Now is a great time to visit Gamble Pond in McGowan Park and the slough at McArthur Island to see migrating ducks up close.  Morning is the best time to go.  Take your binoculars and field guide and keep your physical distance.
